OCAD ON QUEEN at BOARD OF DIRECTORS:Kostoff/mullen April 1 - Apr 12, 2009

BOARD OF DIRECTORS (1086 Queen St. W.) is pleased to present
Christina Kostoff & faye mullen: Miniscule Movements: on soft windowsills as part of the exhibition series, OCAD ON QUEEN, which features thesis exhibitions by students from the Ontario College of Art and Design's Sculpture / Installation department.

Opening Reception: April 1st, 6~9pm
Artists will be present at the reception.

Exploring sculptural possibilities through installation, performance and kinetics; this exhibition investigates the relationship between the artist, the gallery, and the viewer, while engaging in a collective gaze towards the unseen world.

Christina Kostoff is a Toronto-based emerging visual artist who works with kinetic sculpture and installation. "My artwork seeks to address the human attempt to understand and illuminate the world around us."
She has been exhibiting locally for the past several years including an exhibition at The Ontario Science Centre, and is currently completing her final year at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

faye mullen is an emerging visual artist working carefully in 'living sculptures', subtle interventions & durational installations, which often involve the artist's body. She is "intimately involved" with all of her work and becomes very much a part of each piece. The artist strives to eliminate the distinction between the artist, the work, the gallery & the viewer, with the intention to uproot these terms & to challenge their function in contemporary art.
She has studied at the prestigious Ecole National Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France and is currently in her final year at the Ontario College of Art & Design. Faye has exhibited both locally and internationally.
